Once a tree has been cut down, it can be chipped. This process is where the tree is chopped into mulch, which can then be used around the garden or for a variety of other purposes. For raised gardens, mulch can be used underneath the soil and will break down over time, adding nutrients into the soil. The mulch can also be put into the hole where the stump was, as this will help fill the hole and add nutrients back into the ground as they compose.
